The letter wasn’t meant to be opened until three years after his death…
For more than twenty years, Eric kept a secret from the woman he loved. When he is diagnosed with terminal cancer, he finally decides the truth can no longer remain hidden. Before he dies, he writes a letter to his wife, Hilda—but with one unusual condition. The letter must remain unopened until the third anniversary of his death. When Hilda finally opens the envelope, her world is turned upside down.
Eric reveals that many years earlier he believed he had witnessed a murder following a violent confrontation in the Horse and Dragon car park. One of the men involved disappeared without a trace, yet despite rumours, suspicion, and a police investigation, nobody was ever convicted.
Unable to uncover the truth during his lifetime, Eric leaves one final request. He asks Hilda and their grandson Robbie to finish what he started and solve the mystery once and for all.
As they begin investigating the decades-old case, long-forgotten secrets slowly emerge, and the truth proves far more shocking than either of them could have imagined.
Blending mystery, suspense, family relationships, and unexpected twists, A Letter For Hilda is a compelling page-turner that will keep readers guessing until the final revelation.
