Step back to the summer of 1974 with First Kiss: The Musical, a heartwarming coming-of-age story filled with nostalgia, humour, friendship and first love. Personally signed by British author, composer and playwright Kelvin Rush, this complete original script includes every scene and every song lyric from the musical.
Set on a working-class council estate in the north of England, the story follows 11-year-old Jimmy Spence as he navigates the awkward, confusing and unforgettable journey towards his first kiss. As Jimmy struggles to understand growing up, he falls head over heels in love with Julie Richardson, the girl of his dreams.
There’s just one problem…
The school bully, Jack Russell, has his sights set on Julie too and makes it very clear that Jimmy should stay away. With his best friend Scotty offering less-than-perfect romantic advice, Jimmy must somehow overcome his fears, face the local bully and summon the courage to meet Julie at Barkers Park.
Packed with memorable characters, witty dialogue and heartfelt emotion, First Kiss: The Musical captures the innocence, humour and excitement of childhood while celebrating friendship, family and first love. Rich in northern charm and nostalgic storytelling, it’s a script that will make you smile, laugh and remember your own childhood adventures.
Whether you’re a theatre lover, musical enthusiast or collector of signed books, First Kiss: The Musical is a unique and exclusive addition to any bookshelf.
