A Shortened Version of the Original Musical by Kelvin Rush
First Kiss: The Musical – School Edition is a specially adapted version of Kelvin Rush’s original coming-of-age musical, created with schools, youth theatre groups and educational productions in mind. Personally signed by British author, composer and playwright Kelvin Rush, this edition retains the heart, humour and nostalgia of the original while offering a shorter, more accessible script for younger performers.
Set during the summer of 1974, the story follows 11-year-old Jimmy Spence as he navigates friendship, first love and the emotional ups and downs of growing up on a working-class council estate in the north of England. With memorable characters, engaging dialogue and uplifting songs, the musical captures the innocence, excitement and humour of childhood.
This School Edition has been carefully condensed to make it more practical for school performances and youth theatre productions, while preserving the charm, warmth and emotional journey that make First Kiss such an enjoyable musical.
Whether you’re a drama teacher, theatre group, musical enthusiast or collector of signed scripts, First Kiss: The Musical – School Edition offers a delightful and inspiring piece of original British musical theatre.
